Brick and concrete construction, Misiones Jungle (2015)

With the help of a group of friends, we built a small cube out of bricks and cement in the heart of the Misiones jungle. We built it with the hope of offering shelter to the creatures and plants that had no place to take refuge in the hostile jungle. Each brick seemed to hum with the energy of the forest, and we felt we were creating something more than just a simple structure.

One night, Fernando—one of the friends who helped me build it—had a dream in which the Pombero, the mythical guardian of the jungle for the Guaraní culture, appeared to him. With a mysterious smile, the Pombero thanked him for building a home where he and the forest creatures could rest. Deeply moved by the dream, Fernando began leaving offerings of tobacco and sugarcane in the house for a month, convinced something magical had taken place.

When we returned to the spot, we found the cube was no longer there, only scattered bricks on the ground as if an unseen force had gently undone them.

There were no signs of destruction, no human footprints—only a mystical stillness hanging in the air, as though the jungle itself had absorbed the structure into its heart.

In that moment, we understood that our creation had transcended into a realm of magic, where the Pombero had made it part of his domain. The house we had built with such care had become a living legend—a whisper in the jungle where the natural and the supernatural remained entwined.
